Call for international applications from creators who wish to take up residency to perform research work in 2010
Nau Côclea of Camallera announces a call for international applications from creators who wish to take up residency to perform research work in 2010.
1. Nau Côclea residency accommodates projects of visual arts, scennic arts, performance, music, writing and public arts.
The residency is intended to enable the artist to encounter the ideal conditions of space, concentration and facilities for his or her research.
The residency neither envisages nor rules out, the production of research projects or their exhibition.
2. Residencies include accommodation for artists (maximum 4) and work space for a minimum of 7 for a maximum of 90 days.
Some Nau Côclea resources: high-definition video camera, sound equipment, etc. may be used. Consult the appendix for features of the spaces and the list of resources.
3. Nau Côclea staff could help artists to make the necessary contacts with the local population and suppliers of the materials and services associated with their research.
4. Artists who wish to apply for the residency must send the following documentation by e-mail resident@naucoclea.com:
- contact details of the person in charge of the project
- number of participants
- dates for which the residency is requested (with an alternative option should there be one)
- the spaces required (accommodation / work room / exteriors)
- a letter of intent with a text in which the artist explicitly agrees, if he or she is chosen, to perform the residency in the periods requested.
- a description of the project (maximum 3 sheets with maximum 3 photos, JPG format)
- a brief CV (maximum 1 sheet)
(we will not accept nor projects by postal mail neither projects exceding the requested information)
5. Applications for 2010 may be sent up to 30th November 2009.
6. the jury will be composed by professionals of the sector and the Nau Côclea team.
7. Resolution will be announced the 15th December 2009.
The result will be communicated by e-mail to the participants and will be on the Nau Côclea web-site.
8. The fact of appliying means the acceptation of the rules.

a. Residency
- 30m2
- 2 rooms: 1 with double bed and 1 with two single beds
- small lounge, bathroom and small kitchen
- Wi-Fi, fireplace, refrigerator, use of washing machine
b. Work room
- 80m2 grey cement in smooth walls, ceiling and floor. No windows. 3.10
metres high.
c. Exterior
- 8,000 m2 use of which is restricted and depends on the nature of the
project.

- Macbook 12′ laptop
- streaming equipment (canopus, LINUX backup computer) restricted use
depending on loan programs
- SONY HDR - FX 1 E – HANDYCAM video camera. restricted use,
depending on loan programs
