Workshop on traditional remedies: the “trementinaires” (turpentine makers and folk healers) and their remedies

This workshop will reveal the plants and different resins used by the “trementinaires”. It will involve the preparation of turpentine and other ointments.
* Who were the “trementinaires”? Their trade throughout the year.
* Introduction to the herbs and conifers used by the “trementinaires” and a description of their medicinal applications.
Preparation of turpentine and other traditional remedies.
* Outing to collect and dry different medicinal herbs that grow in our surroundings.

The artist Dora García has come up with a workshop that involves everyday filming and productions in Split Screen that will be broadcast by the local Canal Nord TV on a daily basis.

This workshop is aimed at people who wish to learn how to use free graphic design programs (Gimp, Inkscape) as alternatives to Photoshop, Illustrator or Freehand.

Culture Management Workshop: Subsidies for creators

The workshop is aimed at creators and groups of creators with a project that is eligible for a grant or may be subject to award by the Government of Catalonia or Girona Provincial Council.
The workshop involves analysis of different grant schemes and following work on project design and preparation, drawing up a coherent budget as a work tool and the subsequent performance thereof. Project justification systems will also be reviewed.
Program
The workshop will be attended by members of the Government of Catalonia’s ICAC department and from the Provincial Council’s department of culture. They will give a direct explanation of their priorities. The practical content with be performed with Clara Gari.

  • Clara Garí , director of Nau Côclea
  • Technical staff from the ICAC Administration Department
  • Technical staff from the Department of Culture of Girona Provincial Council. Art research

  • Non-members €100
  • Attendees from organisations: €150 (more than one person may attend)
